Recovery mode
Recovery mode is use for set up of OE setting, like cpu speed, seplugins, and have the ability to convert back to v1.5 setting. ( means it is a source for repairing fail psp while upgrading)
To start recovery mode:
1) HOLD R
2) power on your psp
3) X to start
About Recovery mode:
1) Toggle USB
- connect USB
2) Configuration:
-----skip SCE logo
- skip SCE ( the screen when you start your psp) & also disable
autorun-UMD.
-----Hide corrupt icons
- can hide the corrupt date's icon.(most)
-----Game folder homebrew
- change the ms0/psp/game folder's system, to 1.5 or 3.03.
-----Autorun program at /PSP/GAME/BOOT/EBOOT.PBP:
- autorun this file when power on, game folder homebrew have to change to 1.5
-----Use No-UMD
- disable use of UMD to start game
-----Fake region[Japan / America / Europe / Australia / New zeland / Rssia]
- change psp area code
3) Run program at /PSP/GAME/Recovery/EBOOT.PBP:
-----repair brick psp.
4) Advance:( do not change anything if not necessary)
-----Advance configuration Plain modules in UMD/ISO
- can try this if error occur during game.
-----execute boot.bin in UMD/ISO
- it will replace EBOOT.BIN with BOOT.BIN
-----Toggle USB (flash 0) & (flash 1) [ newbies pls do not touch! try it and brick your psp!!]
5) CPU speed:
-----Speed in XMB (default is 222/266/300/333)
-----Speed in UMC/ISO (default is 222/266/300/333)
6) Plugins:
-----use to activate plugin.
7) Registry hack:
-----Button assign-replace X and O button with each other.
-----Activate WMA- activate wma without internet connection.
-----Activate Flash player - activate flash player without internet connection.

Regarding OE system
All function is workable, can format, change of languages, restore default setting, use wallpaper..etc.
Running of iso/cso:
- put .iso/ .cso into (ms0:\ISO\) folder, under memory stick.
- suggest put in a umd when runing iso/cso
Running of program, software or modulator:
- put the file into /psp/game 150
Running of devhook:
- basically, there is no need to run this when you have the OE system..

this is suitable for v1.5/2.71. other version need downgrade to v1.5 first.
what is 3.XX OE?
- not the official 3.xx, but a custom firmware created by dark_alex. it is bascially on a v1.5 console, but running in 3.xx.
Pro:
1) official 3.xx function
2) (CAN) don't use devhook( dosen't mean cannot use )
3) run iso, cso,umd
4) support most program
5) WIFI can work
6) recovery mode
7) block official upgrade version function
Con:
1) no LocationFree Player
2) no korean words
3) cannot read video iso
3.10 OE-A
before upgrade:
1) psp need be in 1.5 or 3.xx OE series or 2.71 SE series
2) Restore default setting
3) battery must at least be 75% or above
4) don't power off or sleep when upgrade
when upgrade:
- as there is always risk when upgrading, pls follow my steps closely.
- put in ms0:\PSP\GAME150\
(without game 150 then create one)
1) run 3.10 OE-A firmware install
2) press X to start ( R to exit)
3) when finish, Done will appear. Press X to shut down. restart manually.
4) will go to manuel after restart. you should see the system software change to 3.10 OE-A

Buying a psp
There has been many questions before buying a psp. Versions, downgrade and so on.
Ok. so i will now tell you what are the things you need to take note of when buying a psp.
Firstly, there are 3 different packs. The Normal pack, Value pack and Giga pack.
Normal pack: psp console, battery, Ac adapter and manuel. The price is the cheapest.
Value pack: psp console, battery, Ac adapter, manuel, 32MB Memory Stick Duo, Headphone with Remote Control, Soft Case, UMD Game Sampler Disc.
Giga pack: psp console, battery, Ac adapter, manuel,1 GB Memory Stick Duo, USB cable, Headphone with Remote Control, one stand.
For console version, there are mainly 1.5, 2.71,2.81,3.0, 3.11.
gamer playing UMD game, purchase 2.81 and above.
gamer who want to play iso game, u can now purchase 1.5, 2.0, 2.5, 2.6, 2.71, 2.81.
2.0, 2.5, 2.6, 2.71, 2.81 have to be downgrade to 1.5 in order to run iso. (now 2.71 can run iso itself)
SO:
1) if u have a 1.5, can directly run iso.
2)if u have a 1.51, 1.52, please upgrade to 2.0, 2.5, 2.6, 2.71, 2.8 first before downgrade to 1.5
3) if u have a 2.0, can use downgrade software to 1.5
4) if u have a 2.01, please upgrade to 2.5, 2.6, 2.71, 2.8 first before downgrade to 1.5
iso= game file, can be run by using certain loader.
umd= psp original game.game and iso can be save in memory stick, now the biggest in market is 4GB.
WHEN BUYING:of course have to check the price. then, check if every items is there. now check the console, sometime the screen will get scratch. after all this steps then on the console.
Other checking:
1) power on and start game.
2) buttons, espically the directional button. many are faulty.
3) light spot or dead spot
4) version of console
5) the battery life, a brand new console is not charge. if that happen to be fully charge, be careful.
